A 38-year-old motorcyclist in Switzerland was caught speeding without his motorbike, sliding passed a speed camera at 66 mph.
The incredible image above (released by Swiss police) shows the rider skidding helplessly as sparks are flying from his bike as he heads towards the side of the road.
The incident happened on October 2, 2011, beetween Cibourg and La Chaux-de-fonds, close to Bern and the French border.

Minati Khatua, from Orissa, allegedly found out the hidden truth after walking in on her hubby taking a bath.

hubby, known as Sitakant Routray, had originally said that he was not willing to consummate the pair's marriage as 'he' was observing a religious ritual.

Police have now launched an investigation into the marriage, with investigators believing that the groom could have gone through with the ceremony in order to receive the dowry which is presented on these occasions, with a car, gold ornaments and £350 in cash part among the gifts.

a couple and five staff were trapped inside one of Britain's highest pubs for eight days because of the snow.

The Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge, in North Yorkshire, was cut off since Friday of last week, as 20ft of snow drifted against the 16th Century pub and bed and breakfast.

The couple, from Darlington, were trapped along with five members of staff until a plough made its way over the North York Moors and the man and woman managed to follow it back to the next town of Castleton.

A Transport for London Road Network study compared 28 trial sites with 28 other sites on parallel routes with no bus lanes, and found that collisions between bikers (not cyclists) and other vehicles were more likely in a bus lane. It seems as though motorcyclists are more likely to break the speed limit in bus lanes, and more likely to hit other vehicles turning in and out of side roads.

A friend of mine works for those b*stards Lambeth Parking dealing with the sorry letters from you and me trying to get out of those parking and Camera tickets……….and believe me this is a MAJOR revenue stream for Lambeth council and others. He tells me that the council make a fortune from bikers who are using bus lanes and getting caught on cameras…….who then write in and state that the mayor of London has decreed that we can use Bus lanes……………They are told ………”no he hasn’t”……….bang ……. Fine to pay……….Pay up sucker !

Check the details but the lord Mayor has ONLY ALLOWED us TO USE BUS LANES IN RED ROUTES but NOT ALL BUS LANES ! !

The bus lanes open to bikers are all on red routes governed by TfL, but other bus lanes in the capital are operated by individual councils and can change designation on the same stretch of road, without bikers being aware.

If like me you have had dealings with car dealers over the years you know that it's hard to find one that (a) tells the truth(b) gives a good deal and (C) knows what service is. you know what I mean, " long MOT" and then when you get to the car it has 2 months MOT to run........the sales guy then says when questioned ....." oh yeah it did have a long MOT when I first advertised it " ... ? ! ?
Well I believe in giving credit where credit is due and I wanna just say my recent dealings with
Dace Motor company in Stockport ( yeah a real trek for me coming up from London !) were DIFFERENT ! - in fact a pleasure. Lots of great cars on their forecourt, all ex main dealer vehicles with genuine low mileages,Got a good deal , No B.S - properly trained/experienced salesman (Ray) and a great business manager(Christian). Everything was as described and the forecourt price was as stated. The whole transaction was Smoooooooooth and I drove away very happy. So if you looking for a good, honest deal go visit or give em a bell ! - you know it makes sense.

Why am I selling such a great seat ?
well, as anyone will tell you, I am of the old school Biker breed that believes " if it aint broke don't fix it", but after 5 years on my custom sportster I had to face it that the stuffing coming out of the cracked vinyl of the sportster seat like a mouse infested matress was beginning to bug me. So I go on ebay and bid on several seats but could not get one at a decent price ( 'schill' bidding and over-optomistic Harley owners ?).
I eventually manage to get one at a decent price and yep 100% condition, like new. BUT the Harley tradition of slightly altering the oddest aspects and specs on their models meant it does'nt fit my model and year !. Sods law ! So - its up for sale with a buy iy now of the price I paid. And My bike still has the stuffing hanging out until I sell that one and get another that does fit !
Or maybe I'll win the Lottery...........................But I won't let it change my life ......... HaHa ! BullSh*T! of course I'll let it totally change me ! haha!

I kept reading stories that confirmed my view/hunch that test centres with repair garages might naughtily be making work for themselves ....and of course money ! by failing vehicles willy nilly.
On several websites there are postings by people who have had a test fail on their car, and quotes for the work from the side-arm garage.........but have then placed the car in the hands of the local authority test centre (not a lot of people know these even exist) and the vehicle has sailed through to a pass.......................
last week my car (an 03 reg) was failed by my Nationwide Autocentre.(MOT special offer £27.50) andI was asked if I wanted to leave the vehicle for what would amount to several hundred pounds worth of work. I said I'd get my specialist to do the work (he is good and cheaper !). Unfortunately he was busy so I thought it would be a good time to 'risk' the money and test the local authority test centre theory.
I was a bit nervous that it could of course find more faults as the local authority test centres are very meticulous and do not offer discounts at all.
The vehicle was quote:- "a good car" and sailed through to pass. not even a notifier of the failing points found by Nationwide.

Oh yeah, and after been ditched recently by wifey Sandra bullock, James, the CEO of West Coast Choppers, will now get to put across his side of the story when he speaks with Vicki Mabrey from ABC in an interview to air in the US on May 25.

Bullock, 45, has since given an interview to PEOPLE magazine where she revealed she had adopted a baby boy.

The recall, believed to involve around 122,000 machines worldwide, covers various versions of six models.

This includes the R 1200 GS Adventure model, versions of which were ridden by Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor in their 2007 Long Way Down biking adventure.

British owners of the bikes got a letter telling them that vibrations could cause the front brake lines to develop leaks which could allow brake fluid to escape which could lead to a failure of the front brakes.

looks like he was more than bent...............the case showed him to be thoroughly corrupt in every sense. The only reason it took so long for him to be brought to justice was the utilisation of the 'Race card' against anyone(bosses etc) who challenged him. Hurrah for the British Justice system on finally bringing this nasty man to face the consequences. His use of the Black Police federation and the 'race card' itself is indicative of the nastiness of the man..........it is an insult to those who have legitimate cause to make racism an issue in their mistreatment.
I was bemused that on the radio this morning there were people still allowing him to hide his disgusting abuse of power by claiming that he had only been brought to justice because he was an ethnic officer ! There is no hope for people this apologetic. Yes there are also corrupt non-ethnic coppers and every now and then we are made aware of this but lets face it Mr Desai has been in the news many times and every time has got off sct free by accusing everyone of being racist.

I spent what seems like forever flailing around trying to work out for myself how I could make some extra money from the internet. Oh man ! It was bad enough news back in late 2009 that Steven Tyler had quit the band to go into rehab and recover his health - (not for the first time in his long life !)
Well now according to Billboard magazine Aerosmith (the corporate entity that is the band )has begun its search for a singer to replace Steven Tyler -- though whether it's permanent or temporary is uncertain.
When Guitarist Joe perry finishes his stint on the Motley Crue tour on February 5th he will be making phone calls and Hopes to have found a new singer by the summer, enabling Aerosmith(Inc) to go back out on the road.
Tyler is currently in rehab for an addiction to painkillers after a tumultuous last few months of 2009(including an unscheduled stage dive -of sorts!), In December Tyler said he planned to "be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled."
Guitarist Perry, however, reckons it may take a while for those things to be "handled", certainly longer than he and the rest of Aerosmith care to wait as they gear up for the group's 40th anniversary in 2011.

Perry said. "He has to have leg surgery and foot surgery and it's basically going to take him out of the picture for about a year, year and a half."

Old BBC documentary about the Outcasts MC

decided to transfer an old VHS to my computer today, but thought I'd watch it first. It was a documentary made in 1985( at a guess) about an outlaw motorcycle club called the Outcasts MC (check out outcasts MC on Bykuz.com). I remember at the time thinking the programme was a bitfunny as they came across as amusing and almost a spoof.........
but then as the incidents at Battersea town hall a few years later showed , tragedy waited round the corner for this club.
I remember going to an 'London' Outcasts MC bike show at Mile End in the nineties - they had their own pub as a clubhouse....very cool.
In some ways the documentary showed a bunch of motorcycle obsessed guys, like myself and the crowd I grew up with, who rode got stoned and had a good time irrespective of societies norms. There is a lovable naievity about the whole thing which is only tainted by the 'modern'interpretation of what a Motorcycle club is and should be.I suppose times do change and the world has become a lot harder and everyone has to take life a lot more serious than they used to.
Outcasts MC in Uk ceased to exist and I believe ( not confirmed) that some members became Hells Angels whilst others eventually became members of the Outlaws MC worldwide brotherhood.
I'm sure the MC world stories will still play out into 2010.

Agents provocateur and the laughlin ‘Casino Battle’

Has anyone else read the account of the 2002 Laughlin Casino ‘battle’ between Angels and Mongols in “Befriend & betray “(Alex Caine) and felt that it leads to the inference that the actions of undercover agents hours before are what precipitated the attack in the Harrah’s Casino ?
Caine describes being summoned from his sleep at the ‘cover house’ just across the river from Laughlin and told to put on a set of Mongol colours(confiscated a few years earlier by Federal agents) and riding with the pack of agents from various agencies [including now infamous Jay ‘Jaybird’ Dobyns (“ No Angel”)] to a location south of Laughlin.
The plan was to attack the convoy allegedly transporting a large drugs consignment for a deal set up by Caine with the Angels. When his handling agency indicated at the third hour that they could not meet the finance requirements for the deal another agent suggested a rip-off be staged to steal the drugs. Caine admits in the book that he is still not sure whether the idea was officially agency authorised or whether this was a wildcat plan of UC agents for themselves.
Caine describes the ambush of the drugs convoy from a nearby hilltop, and in his account points out a couple of things that struck him as odd during the ensuing gun battle. – firstly, that agents abandoned safe crouching positions to fire in full view of the convoy, thereby flying the Mongols colours very obviously. He also points out his own surprise first that the convoy was seemingly unprotected and that secondly that the agents on the hillside(‘Mongols’) do not seem to have expected the HA outriders then to appear behind them on the hillside.
In the ensuing confusion a couple of ‘agency Mongols’ and a member of HA were killed, the convoy escaped into the night and the “agency Mongols”, removed their colours and rode frantically back to their Laughlin hidey-hole.
Caine then tells of a couple of days of boredom followed by the days events that culminated in the now well documented and publicly reported Gunfight in the Harrah’s Casino between Mongols and Hells Angels

The witch job that pays £50,000

A job centre is advertising a "witch" vacancy with tourist site Wookey Hole, in Somerset, for £50,000 a year.

The witch, who has to live in the site's caves, is expected to teach witchcraft and magic.

Wookey Hole staff say the role is straightforward: live in the cave, be a witch and do the things witches do.

The advert for the post, placed in the local press as well as job centres, says applicants must be able to cackle and cannot be allergic to cats.

The job has come up after the previous witch retired from the role.

"We are witchless at the moment so need to get the role filled as soon as possible," said Daniel Medley from the tourist destination.

'Key career move'

"Wookey Hole wants the appointee to go about her everyday business as a hag, so that people passing through the caves can get a sense of what the place was like in the Dark Ages.

"This was when an old woman lived in the caves with some goats and a dog, causing a variety of social ills, including crop failures and disease."

The £50,000-a-year salary is pro rata, and based on work done as needed, largely in the summer holidays, but also at Halloween and at Christmas.

"Wookey Hole is advertising nationally and hopes to attract a strong field of candidates with the £50,000 serving as a major incentive," said the site.

It said ambitious witches looking for a "key career move" should arrive dressed for work armed with any "essential witch accoutrements".

Due to sexual discrimination law, the job cannot demand that the post is filled by a woman.

Under sexual discrimination law, unless Wookey Hole can provide "documentary proof that the original witch was female it can't issue a gender-specific job description".

Interviews, which will involve on-site assessment incorporating a range of standard tasks, will take place on 28 July at 1100, stipulates the advert.

Although I'm naturally averse to 'accesorization school of customization, there is a piece of off the shelf kit that I'd wanted to put on my sportster for a couple of years but as it was strictly aesthetic and non performance practical it kept getting put off and the funds used elsewhere. However after a boring evening on ebay and finding myself on a a page of Kuryakyn accesories I put in a low bid on an aircraft 'style' flush mounted gas cap.........a screw in one which didn't need welding etc but fitts in the stock tank filler hole, thereby dressing the tank filler to look like it's a genuine welded in flush filler. I then forgot about my bid and a few weeks later recieved an 'e'mail from 'e'bay reminding me I had to pay for it as I'd won.
It arrived and I've gotta say, it was so easy to fit. - it took about 10 minutes reading and orientation and about 5 minutes to actually fit.

Yeah I was surfing the other day and visited one of my most favourite sites - bykuz.com.
at present there is a large amount of interest in the new Bravo TV series 'sons of Anarchy, due to start very soon here in the UK. Like the guys at Bykuz.com I also caught several episodes in the USA and think it is a pretty entertaining series.
Most worrying is the fact that some guys , I suppose the same way as Trekkies do, take the programme and dress up and pretend to live the life. One even asks whether there are plans for the series creators to establish the club for real...................Muppet...........he probably wrote off for a membership aplication after watching the Godfather movies.....! - shouldn't be allowed out without a nurse medication or no medication !

I caught the premier of this new TV show whilst in the States August 2008.....watch it and decide for yourself. Without a doubt it is well researched and gets some things right and others wrong..........Hey ....It's entertainment ! although having seen a couple of muppets comments on the forum/blogs to the series from individuals who ask - where they can buy a set of Colours/Patch, and another asking if the series producers have any plans to set up an MC from the series....? I despair..........I guess the one individual probably wrote off for an application form to join the mafia after seeing the Godfather movies ! some people shouldn't be allowed out without a nurse !

The Sons of Anarchy is a fictional - yes fictional ! outlaw motorcycle club with many charters in the United States. The Charming local is the original founding charter of the Sons of Anarchy.
The show has already aired in several European countries after the success in the US, and is due to air in the next few months in the UK on Bravo.

Oscars Nomination

was initially really astounded/dissappointed that the movie 'Defiance' with Daniel Craig was not up there in the main Oscar nominations. Granted it did get a nomination for the music score but nothing more.
But then when I began to think about it in context I began to feel a lot better about it.
Firstly, the Oscars being industry awards, are really about little more than a pat on the back and marketing - oscars not only increase the bums on seats, longevity and DVD sales of the movie but secure the bankability of actors and filmakers alike for the next project. It's the Movie 'Business' lets never forget that.
Secondly, ok the publicity of the oscar nomination/win does help but as long as the movie was made and watched then the story has been told.
Thirdly, yes it's a great story,a true story, but although it is a story well told, cinematographically well made,it isn't a G.R.E.A.T movie.
I guess it's just unfortunate that often a story worth telling doesn't get the attention given to some indulgent piece of fiction.

I think the most dissappointing thing I saw about this movie was a description on a major website movie chart as "a movie about 3 Jewish brothers who get revenge for the killing of their parents"...........mmmm

I bought a dvd advertised as region 1(or was it 2 ?) from ebay. The Title was The history of the Hells Angels. It arrived in a home styled cover and the label on the disc was paper and matching design. It turned out to be a straight 'Copy' of the History Channel Documentary made in 2005. The disc wouldn't play without disruption on DVD or on my PC.
When I moaned to the seller about it being a pirate she claimed it wasn't ...... as the film is in the public domain......? ? ? I'm sure History Channel think different.......................in her 'e'mail she also points out matter-of -factly' that I should check my facts, and that she has sold at least 5 copies nad never had any faulty ones.

I also bought a 2003 onwards Harley Sportster workshop manual.from another seller.........didn't read the whole advertisement and lo and behold a disc arrives.

Whilst surfing the other day I visited http://www.bykuz.com/ and clicked on the pages for the Harley Sportster. Here amongst other useful stuff I uncovered a true gem. The site talks about an old TV series featuring a Sportster riding hero.

Then Came Bronson is a short-lived adventure/drama television series that aired on NBC from 1969 to 1970, and was produced by MGM Television. It began with a movie pilot March 1969. Family 'replaced by gang culture'
Family life has been replaced by gang culture based on drugs and violence for "almost feral groups" of young people, a police chief has suggested.
Barbara Wilding, Chief Constable of South Wales, said in some areas tribal loyalty replaced that of the family.
Her speech was made at King's College London in May, and reported in The Times, which obtained a transcript.
Ms Wilding said that family breakdown was the root cause of many problems for young people.
Speaking at the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, she said: "In many of our larger cities, in areas of extreme deprivation, there are almost feral groups of very angry young people.
"Many have experienced family breakdown, and in place of parental and family role models, the gang culture is now established.
"Tribal loyalty has replaced family loyalty and gang culture based on violence and drugs is a way of life."
The former deputy assistant commissioner for the Metropolitan Police also said more focus should be placed on tackling the complicated social and economic issues that lead to criminal behaviour.
"In an age of cost-benefit analysis... there is no appetite for solutions that have no visible return and no patience for any which will not bear immediate political fruit."
During her speech, Ms Wilding also said disaffected young people were a prime target for terrorist recruiters.

Blonde air traveller.

On an airline destined for Dallas the cabin stewardess spotted a tall blonde woman get up from her economy class seat and settling herself down in 1st class.
She approached the woman and told her she had to return to her economy class seat as she had not paid for 1st class.
The blonde refused and said “I’m blonde, I’m gorgeous, I’m on my way to Dallas and I’m staying right here !” and continued to read her magazine.
The cabin stewardess went to the cockpit to report the matter to the Pilot.
The co-pilot went out and repeated the request to the young lady. Again she refused, and repeated “I’m blonde, I’m gorgeous, I’m on my way to Dallas and I’m staying right here !”
Exasperated the co-pilot returned to the cockpit and asked the Pilot to radio ahead to Dallas and tell them they would need to get the police to meet the flight as they had a passenger who was refusing to co-operate.
The Pilot said, “wait a moment, I am particularly good with Blondes, I married one, I know how they think. Let me have a go first.”
A few moments later the young woman had happily returned to her economy class seat.
The staff were amazed and asked the Pilot what he had said to her.
“ oh it was easy I explained that first class wasn’t going to Dallas”……

SHOULD YOU REPLACE YOUR SPARK PLUGS?
One of the leading causes of hard starting is fouled or worn spark plugs. When a fuel injected engine that normally starts quite easily has to be coaxed to life, it often means the plugs are overdue for a change. As the electrodes wear, the voltage required to jump the gap and ignite the fuel mixture goes up. At the same time, accumulated deposits on the insulator can drain off voltage before it even has a chance to form a spark. So the engine fails to start or starts only reluctantly after prolonged cranking.
Spark plug sales take off when cold weather arrives is because many motorists put off changing the plugs until they absolutely have to. The vehicle manufacturer's recommendations to change the plugs every 30,000 miles for preventative maintenance are ignored, so the plugs continue to rack up mile after mile until they've deteriorated to the point where they're causing noticeable driveability problems.
Emission checks will catch a lot of bad plugs and force motorists to change plugs that need to be replaced. But in areas where emission checks are not required, the only incentives for changing the plugs are the driveability problems created by the plugs themselves. So many motorists today think they're saving money on maintenance by putting off a plug change until it's obvious the engine needs new plugs. Then and only then will they begrudgingly spend any money on a new set of plugs.
WHY CHANGE 'EM?
What motorists need to be told today is why the plugs should be replaced according to their vehicle manufacturer's scheduled maintenance recommendations be it every 30,000 miles, or 60,000 to 100,000 miles in the case of long life plugs. Ho Hum......how incredibly boring the Easters seem to get.............I never seem to have any money to do anything or the energy to take up the various 'free' ways of enjoying oneself in this great capital city. Working at the Local council is , i imagine like being in a coma. A big new change in the Parking regulations is imminent and our office is struggling to even get the existing IT to work half way decently. The on -going saga with the Harley - for which I have lost all motivation, was kick started(pun intended) when, after the problems on the tin box proved to be no more than a set of HT leads, I figured the symptoms were identical in the problems I was having with the bike. After several visits to bykuz.com I found a quote for the Voltage reg at £95-100 which scared the bejeepers out of me. So at the 11th hour having just stalled at pressing the order now button for a £120 voltage regulator I figured I'd replace the Spark plugs and leads first (intended replacement anyhow) before splashing out on the regulator.....yeeh hah ! saved myself £120 ! runs like a dream. anyway back to the office of coma hQ. later.

I know some enthusiasts will think....'Sacrilege' but as one of the wheel trim discs was missing I decided to scrap em all and am going to 'satin' black the steel rims instead.
Yeah it will make the car look mean but kinda suits me as a biker.

Well, after the hassle and rip off that is EUROSTAR Garage in Tooting SW17 - the good news is that the outcome was sucessful once they were given the Elbow.
Thanks to the efficiency of EURO CAR PARTS( Mitcham Branch)

The new HT leads were fitted (Good price too – Eurocarparts), The old BKR6EKUB plugs which were on the car when purchased worked well but there was still some ‘weakness’(mixture ?). With nothing to lose and working on the reverse logic that as I couldn’t afford the expense of a proper’tune-up’ I needed to try to replicate the set-up that worked with the current carb (fuel/air) Settings. Euro Car parts offered the Denso Plug K20TXR at £10.29 inc vat.

Bought – Fitted- ………………….heaven………..Job done !

Car now runs well and the grin factor is even there.

SUMMARY : - Volvo V40.

EUROSTAR GARAGE TOOTING – CRAP ! Cowboys. AVOID AT ALL COST.

A cautionary tale,

I Bought V40 1996 estate.2.0i which Ran like a pig even after usual ‘cold’start should have passed.

Based on previous experience with same problem on other Volvos I Changed HT leads. From the Spec cards in HALFORDS……… and Routinely changed the plugs from the NGK BKR6EKUB on there to new NGK BKR6ETUC recommended by my local Auto factors.

Still running badly and at times lacking power I called several garages and opted for a local garage which does MOT’s Services and claims diagnostics and tuning.

The ‘Garage’- EUROSTAR , of TOOTING,LONDON , told me (at a cost of a £ 88 Diagnostic !) that he thought they were the wrong HT leads (no certainty there !) and that the BKR6ETUC plugs I had fitted to replace the BKR6EKUB on the car when I got it were the wrong plugs. He was very disgruntled at my informing him I could change the plugs and HT leads myself (rather than pay him the £75 +vat p/h), and handed me a piece of paper with NGK BCPR6ET written on it telling me these are the plugs I need.

I changed the HT leads but replaced the old BKR6EKUB plugs as they were visibly in reasonable condition. Problem Solved.

Luckily before I returned to the Autofactor shop to raise hell or bought the ‘Correct’plugs as per the Eurostar Garage Tooting I visited the NGK product website and did a cross reference check on all the plugs mentioned (including Eurostars erroneous type).

OK it confirmed that the BKR6ETUC is the correct Plug for the car model,/year/engine size and offered the BKR6EKUB as an alternative.

Incidently, on the NGK Web site it returns the following vehicles for the NGK BCPR6ET Spark Plug.

What a week:
Lots of crap at work and then the end of the week brought the news that the great Evel Knievel died. Another part of my childhood. God I remember the Evel Knievel stunt bikes that I got one Christmas..........incidentally when surfing the net after Evels death I discovered that these toys had recently been re-launched............and of course the news of the death saw most suppliers shelves emptying at double speed.

Long time since I wrote....but tonite I had a brief encounter with a mystery woman blew my mind......

Tonite I was called to the Shell station at the roundabout at Battersea Queenstown road to help a guy from a Scooter company who had been attacked by some idiots while he tried to go about his honest working life.
When I pulled up I saw the scooter and the rider ,who was on the phone and beside his scooter a White Van......from then on in my vision was enhanced by the best looking woman I have
seen for ages. She had the perfect figure, beautiful face and Oh my god those legs !...........................2 die for !...........I was sure I'd seen/met her before..(in my dreams ?)....Her friend (also a babe) and herself were also in something of a crisis.......asked me to help.......I did what I could to help them on their way. Before I dragged myself away I discovered she had recently been blown away by her first ride on a Buell..........and that she is a hairdresser................here's one ugly old biker who wishes he had hair and could have made the trip to Southend.

Hells Angels -Sense at last

At last some common sense has been shown in the worldwide knee jerk reaction everytime the words 'Hells Angels' is mentioned. Nothing has changed since Cohen wrote his influential sociological study on the mods and rockers - Folk devils, Moral panics.
Any subculture will invariably reflect the mainstream society - the subculture is a microcosm of the 'society' in which it exists. The laws and regulations of the society will to a greater or lesser extent seek to control the subculture and it's perceived freedoms. That is to say, in striving to live in their own cultural world subcultures such as the Outlaw Biker will invariably break rules and regulations created by the 'ruling' culture in an attempt to curtail their freedom and control them. Consider for example the way in which,here in the UK, the criminal justice and public order Act was introduced as a means of preventing illegal gatherings - initially aimed at so called 'new age travellers' but ultimately and perhaps the hidden agenda was to use the Act to curtail groups of 'Ravers'(also note- attempts were made to use that the same act to curtail Motorcycle gatherings each year - which failed abysmally !)
There are individuals in Society who are criminally inclined, sociological studies show us that a sub culture will be a microcosm of this - i.e. there is likely to be an equivalent proportion possibly involved in criminal activity. BUT What the authorities have failed to establish in any countries in the World is that the clubs, and in the main, the Hells Angels, are a criminal organisation per se. There has not been established any requirement for criminal activity as a pre-requisiteto joining the club.
People outside the clubs, including other motorcyclists will probably never really know what dynamic drives the clubs. The Angels have always refused to entertain debate or answer questions and it is this that winds up the Authorities and citizens. To answer the questions would justify their asking. We live in a world where family units are decimated and very few people have the strong bonds that exist in these subcultural organisations. The military is perhaps one group who can have an idea of the bond.
The news this week fom the Netherlands is that the Haringen chapter of the Hells Angels motorbike club does not have to be banned and broken up, a court in Leeuwarden ruled on Tuesday. The court said that the public prosecution department had failed to prove that the organisation was such a threat to public order that the 'ultimate deterrent' - a ban - was legally justifiable.
Nor could the Harlingen group be held responsible for criminal acts by members of the gang elsewhere in the country, the court said. Just because some members had criminal records, did not mean the Hells Angels were a criminal organisation, the court ruled.
The public prosecution department (OM) is attempting to have the Dutch Hells Angels banned because of its criminal connections - in particular to drugs and illegal weapons - arguing such an organisation has no place in society.
The court's decision will come as a severe blow to the OM. The Harlingen case was the first of seven such hearings nationwide and the first to reach a verdict. Other cases have been heard in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Alkmaar, IJmuiden, Rotterdam and Kampen.
The OM said immediately that it would appeal against the Leeuwarden ruling. It would do all it could to ensure the organisation was banned, a spokesman said.
Last week it emerged that several serving Dutch soldiers were also Hells Angels in their spare time.
We cannot afford to be complacent, if the authorities succeed anywhere and the rot spreads, who will they single out next...? Chopper riders, motorcyclists generally,..............NAZI GERMANY.WORLD.

jeep Grand Chrokee

I recently acquired an old JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ( a 1996 model ). 4 Litres of pure American Grunt even though it’s only the little brother to the 6 Litre Model.
I live in the UK so with Petrol (gas) costing 89p per litre it’s fairly extravagant to have a vehicle averaging 16-18 Miles to the Gallon - But what the heck !

Exhaust pipe Noise Tickets - Fiction vs. Reality. In California, unlike speeding tickets where the cops have radar detectors that must be calibrated with proof read into the record of every speeding ticket taken to court, the equipment used to determine exhaust pipes excess noise are the cops ears, which by the CHP's own admission is subjective. Subjective enforcement of a law is by nature is arbitrary, inconsistent and against the law. Here are some facts and letters I used to fight my ticket.

DALE EARNHARDT- was killed when his helmet broke his neck. The neck can't handle the forces generated in a crash. Granted, Dale's crash scenario is different from a bike crash. He was strapped in and going 200 MPH, but the physics are same and too many riders have been injured, paralyzed and killed by the same inherent problems. Enter the HANS (Head And Neck Support) system that is being considered for required equipment in certain race events. Basically, the HANS system protects the driver by making his "safety helmet" safe. You mean they're not?

As an often threatened minority/majority we need to ensure that we stop the man from infringing on our civil liberties.

Never was the quote from Peter Fonda more relevant. The problem is that for a perceived minority there is a tendency for people even within the sub culture to sit back and not notice the gradual chip, chip,chipping away of ‘the man’at our freedoms or perhaps to feel that the little change in the law of one state does not effect us in our own state. Think Again !

During the second world war there was a guy, a priest, called father Niemoeller there is a quote ( often changed to suite the political need of the user) but the basic core of the thing was this:-

It’s not enough to sit back crank open the throttle and ride off along the highway if we want to continue to enjoy our freedom then we need to fight to stop the politicians – the non-bikers and the facist pigs from taking them away. Education and self awareness are our main weapons. Another invaluable weapon is the $. Yes spending power….. now more than ever in the past we have our voting and spending power. Gone are the days when bikers were a penniless and powerless minority. Our numbers have grown, our pay-packets have grown and our political clout has grown with time. Bikers buy houses, bikers pay taxes, bikers buy fuel, schooling, real estate….etc ,etc many Bikers are business men and employers, Bikers are consumers with big spending power and in our society this counts for a lot. Our votes are our power more than ever before.

Perhaps the best way to stop the eroding of our rights is to know exactly what our rights are and what the man can and cannot do……..and when they step over the line to call them back into check.
