Brakes are for wimps !

Spare a thought for all those poor city workers, accountants and hairdressers who will have to find other means of transport while their bikes are off the road..............................
Reports are that thousands of BMW motorcycles are being recalled due to a possible brake problem.
The recall, believed to involve around 122,000 machines worldwide, covers various versions of six models.

This includes the R 1200 GS Adventure model, versions of which were ridden by Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor in their 2007 Long Way Down biking adventure.

British owners of the bikes got a letter telling them that vibrations could cause the front brake lines to develop leaks which could allow brake fluid to escape which could lead to a failure of the front brakes.

models involved are the R 1200 GS, the R 1200 R, the R 1200 RT, the R 1200 ST and the K 1200

metal Legend Dio loses fight with cancer

May 16, 2010

How sad I was to hear of the death in LA of Ronnie James Dio - legendary rock and Metal vocalist.

Dio had announced last year that he was being treated at a Houston hospital for stomach cancer

Many consider Dio to be the epitomy of the Metal-Rock Legend.

In 1975 he came to fame as the first lead singer of Rainbow, the heavy metal band put together by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who had just quit Deep Purple.

In 1980 Dio joined Black Sabbath as vocalist, replacing legendary vocalist Ozzy Osbourne with the critically acclaimed album "Heaven And Hell," considered by many critics to be one of the finest heavy-metal albums of all time. His on-again, off-again tenure with Black Sabbath sparked an intense debate among fans as to which singer was the true essence of the band — a discussion that has lasted until his death.
