27/01/1945: Liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau

Soviet soldiers liberated Auschwitz-Birkenau on 27 January 1945. They found several thousand emaciated survivors and the smouldering remains of the gas chambers and crematoria – the Nazi attempt to destroy evidence of their Crimes Against Humanity. Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest Nazi killing camp, where approximately 1.1 million men, women and children were murdered.

Auschwitz-Birkenau has become a symbol of the horror of industrialised murder, and what can happen when hatred is left unchecked.

The Holocaust Memorial Trust are asking everyone across the UK to pause for a few moments to remember the victims of Nazi persecution and those who were murdered under exclusionary policies in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and Darfur.

I just read that Arnold Schwarzenegger's term as Govenor of California is just about up. He Plans to return to acting ? - I wasn't aware he had done any acting before ! haha!
seriously though I have news of a potential replacement govenor for California.......................

Minati Khatua, from Orissa, allegedly found out the hidden truth after walking in on her hubby taking a bath.

hubby, known as Sitakant Routray, had originally said that he was not willing to consummate the pair's marriage as 'he' was observing a religious ritual.

Police have now launched an investigation into the marriage, with investigators believing that the groom could have gone through with the ceremony in order to receive the dowry which is presented on these occasions, with a car, gold ornaments and £350 in cash part among the gifts.

'I thought he was devout and respectful of me. But when I walked into the bathroom there was no mistaking that my husband was 100 per cent a woman.

It is also being reported that Routray has now vanished with a car and a jeep, which were bought with loans taken from a bank account in Ms Khatua's name.

'I always try and unpack that he was a man, but failed many times. What was feared has been proved; she is a woman,' Ms Khatua added.
